After a week of filming across Ukraine, all words seem too shallow to fully capture the pain Russia has inflicted on its people.

But I also witnessed something impossible to destroy: the spirit of freedom - and the remarkable strength to rise above pain with dignity and kindness.

2/2 Ukraine says it has managed to secure the return of 3,956 people from Russian captivity since the start of Moscow’s full-scale war. Kremlin has not provided the reciprocal total number of Russian POWs returned since 2022.

Hundreds are returning home ahead of New Year’s Eve after one of the largest Russia-Ukraine prisoner-of-war exchanges, brokered by the UAE.
