Her "pillow" is a plush log she got for her birthday that has stuffed squirrels in it. When she first got it, she enjoyed rousting out the squirrels from their "home" but now she just snugs it and naps on it.

Hippo has been very extra during her afternoon walks the past couple days, because it's been almost 90F here. Instead of walking the normal route, she insists on flopping in the grassy shade and stopping every 15 feet or so.

Hippo likes naps and snugs. In this photo she's snugging a squirrel. It came as part of a set with like 4-5 other stuffed squirrels in a stuffed log. She loves pulling the squirrels (and other things) out of the log.

Naptime after yard zoomies. At this point she's been cleared to resume regular activity but her stamina is not entirely back yet even with the regular careful walks.

Hippo hated the vacuum but was happy to immediately get fur all over everything again after it was clean.

She's being extra snuggly lately because she's not getting her painkillers as often and she needs the extra comfort to make it through the working day.

After the surgical site healed up, the leg still looks funny after having been shaved but she's now permitted to do a limited degree of supervised walking, but she doesn't like to put weight on it because it hurts :(

We replaced the cone of shame with a Lick Sleeve (tm), which is basically a big waterproof sock to stop her from licking her surgical site. It wraps around her hips to keep it from slipping off, but she was much happier with that vs the cone of shame.

This is actually like five weeks old at this point, but this is Hippo doing her best impression of a failed umbrella after tearing her ACL and having to get knee surgery!
