I don’t have many memories from my early-elementary experience, but this one has always stuck with me!

This specifically all happened during class time - most of the students came from low-income households two towns away, so parents could not pick their kids up from afterschool activities.

We also learned how to say “gung hay fat choy”, and I vaguely remember something about Chinese calligraphy.

We made chopstick holders out of clay that were glazed and fired, she taught us all how to USE CHOPSTICKS, and then she threw a LNY party with Chinese take-out where we got to practice our skills.
