Had a friend who’d drive me insane with texts like this. He’d be asking if I wanted to go to a gig but we’d be about 8 messages in before I’d find out who was actually playing. I’d know the date, time, venue, price. Everything but who it was.

Asked a couple at work what their fave films were. Her’s was Marked for Death and for him it was Dirty Dancing.

My Mum once went on holiday because my aunt didn’t want to go to a party. She couldn’t think of a reason not to go so said she was going away, and then had to back that up by actually going somewhere. Didn’t want to go alone so invited my Mum along.

I only recently realised that they have two Washington’s on opposite sides of the country: Washington State and Washington DC (the capital).

Girl I know was doing a little gig in a bar and for no obvious reason they had Psycho playing on a screen behind the acts so she played her final song like this.

For my job I am constantly asking customers for their proof of purchase for tech items. Most of them if needed are able to go back to the retailer and get a duplicate invoice/receipt.

Many years ago someone did a dangerous close pass on my Dad on his motorbike. When he caught up with them at the next lights he leant in their window, took out the keys and launched them into a nearby field.

For a while in my late teens I had the nickname Bob after him. I’d broken my wrist and the cast came up past my elbow, keeping my arm in the same position as when he held Spit the Dog.

You must be mistaken. All the ads I say stress the importance of gambling responsibly, so they must really have the best interest of the players at heart.

Some of my favourite comedians regularly have references in their shows that I don’t quite understand. I’m absolutely fine with the idea of listening to someone smarter than me.

By far the most hate I ever received online was when I complimented someone’s art. The artist liked the comment but an insane number of people didn’t like my exact phrasing of it and were sure to let me know.

I once read someone give an album a 1 star review because it hadn’t been released yet. We need to learn to disregard the opinions of humans.

It’s one of the few ‘sports’ where the whole point of it is betting. The entire focus of the commentary and discussion around it is the odds. It’s one of the only ones that I think would completely cease to exist without the gambling.

I remember watching Face/Off with my brother and he was critical of the stopping distances when a car was chasing a plane down a runway. Had to tell him that accuracy wasn’t really John Woo’s thing. He’d made about 4 films full of shootouts before anyone felt the need to reload.

You’d feel pretty dumb if it turned out we had a They Live situation going on and only these guys could see what was really going on.
