But there is so much to talk about here. 70° one day, below freezing the next, then a series of tornadoes across the region followed by 3 inches of snow. We can cycle through all four seasons every other day without traveling. 🥶🥵🌪️

So magical! I miss seeing stars. I live so close to the 3rd largest city in the USA that I have not seen any stars except for a handful of the largest ones in years.

I’m glad I give both of this in our yard. The soil in the back yard is so poor that normal grasses don’t do well. So, most of the green in the lawn is actually Creeping Charley, Dandelions and other “weeds”. 😕

Sadly our local forest preserve had come through and hacked a lot of the trees and shrubs just before the freeze. Hope no critters were relying upon that for any winter resources. Guessing come spring time it will be a lot more open with only a handful of old trees left. 😢

But it is good to have proof the foxes are still around. It has been a couple of years since we had seen any. That was when a momma raised her kits under an old deck in the middle of the campus. Maintenance was not happy, but the rest of us loved watching the little fur balls play.

I swear the woods next to my office seem more friendly and open to me since I did my initiation out there during a lunch period this last spring. I’ve had more close encounters with deer and assorted small forest critters this last few months than I’ve had in the previous 20 years here. /|\
