This really captures something for me beyond just "cool ship". It kind of evokes the loneliness of the job a ship like that would do? Anyway, it's a really beautiful piece of work.

Yeah, I'm looking to migrate to Linux myself over the next few weeks, and my understanding is that the modded launcher generally makes XIV run great.

And, speculatively, this would be how we wind up with some rootkit-ass anticheat shoved into FFXIV.

Yeah this was my read of it too. We know that mods are kind of in a "don't make me notice them" area since they don't really have the infrastructure built into the game to check for them.
Payment processors getting involved would likely mean they'd have to take extraordinary measures.
