- Ability for user to set . access operators on typedefined arrays (and vectors when available).
As such, this should only work in the translation environment, and not be able to be set
during runtime.
It'd also be nice to make these
Example:
//_arr_access_alias(constexpr char[n]), where n is same size as
typedef float v4f[4] _arr_access_alias('xyzw');
typedef float v2f[2] _arr_access_alias('xy');
v4f a = {0,1,2,3};
v4f b = {4,5,6,7};
v2f c = a.xy; //Should work like a shorthand for c = {a[0], a[1]};
v2f d = c.yx; //Should work like d = {c[1],}
Basically being able to choose to work with arrays like in OpenCL.
- Alternatively one could use some kind of way to set some kind of default access
when using a union name:
union v4f{
float v[4];
float x,y,z,w;
} [[set_default_union_access(v)]];
union v4f vec = {};
//Would be able to use like this
vec[0] = 1.0f;
//Or like this
vec.x = 1.0f;
This approach would lack the ability to use the type like OpenCL or similar vectors unless

Help, I'm obsessed with thinking about how one could introduce a vector type in the C Programming language. (NOT the C++ vector type, specifically more like a specialization of array programming for the purposes of better supporting SIMD hardware and instructions).
