Veteran & Methodist (he):
Pro-choice; pro-dismantling racism; anti-fascism and anti-totalitarian rule; anti-releasing CO₂ to the air (I'm fine with renewable fuels & sequestration); and pro-human & LBGTQ rights. If God is Love (She is), then ACT LIKE IT.

If you'd rather see it on the Aldi's site itself, here ya go.

TBH, the Sleeper of N'kai ISN'T my favorite toad shape... 😜

(As you know, I subscribe to the Paizo view of the Derleth-HPL Mythos: the old authors are unreliable and bigoted narrators. My favorite Mythos authors are Victor LaValle, Matt Ruff, and especially P. Djèlí Clark and his "Ring Shout.")

My voidkitty makes me happy (she's my fourth cat and second midnight kitty over the past third of a century).

Control.
People encourage bigotry to manipulate others and a lot of pale and male people who look and sound like me are HAPPY to be tools if it means they get to hate someone, and then have someone powerful pat them on their hateful little heads, maybe rub their bellies, and toss them a doggy treat.

I would ask WHY we are so addicted to the transphobia that targets my friends and family, but it's obvious: this kind of hate is used to control people.

Don't know what I mean? Go find W.E.B. Du Bois' 1935 "Black Reconstruction" and read the "psychological and public wage" passage. Same thing.

Happy Pride!
MG Friedrich Wilhelm August Heinrich Ferdinand Freiherr von Steuben took the mess that was Washington's Continental Army and turned them into a worthy fighting force.

Today, we would call him gay. LBGTQIA+ soldiers have always pulled their weight.

I agree with a lot of my denomination's Social Principles from our Book of Discipline. And that includes me believing in gender equality, and in supporting the right of people to make their own decisions about their bodies.

OK, insightful or not, still worth watching what Teen Vogue says and what Pope Leo does. I returned to the United Methodist Church in my early 50s and am no longer Roman Catholic; I am anti-misogyny; and Queer. But I am liking a pro-"Help the Poor" Pope. And that he is a Swiftie. ;)

Once upon a time, I could link my country's CDC website on PrEP. But now we have politicians denying science and fostering lies because it helps them manipulate the gullible.

It's American to be pro-vaccination!

Today is Transgender Day of Visibility. My thanks and my respect and my acceptance to those people in my life who are trans.

It hurts us all.
So why do elites push white supremacy?
⮚ Trump, et al: Avoid prosecution.
⮚ Congress GOP: Avoid blackmail.
⮚ Oligarchs: Control all potential wealth.
⮚ Yarvin's Dark Enlightenment (NRx): Secular absolute monarch.
⮚ Heritage Foundation's Project 2025: Theocratic absolute monarch.

GOP as Slavers
NOW we see why why Mr. Trump was so anxious to show preference to sex offenders for his cabinet. And it dovetails with his desire to remove the 14th Amendment with its birthright citizenship & declaration that all are equal before the law.

GOP as Slavers
Consider:
⮚ Mr. Trump freed human trafficker Andrew Taint at great effort.
⮚ Without a trial and against a judge’s orders, Mr. Trump is incarcerating plane-loads of people in foreign jails.
⮚ The GOP majority in Congress approves.

Slavery.
They disgrace Mr. Lincoln’s party.

By the way, this is also why I like biomass fuels – like renewable diesel, and the older biodiesel – as stop-gap measures to mitigate climate change. They get their carbon from plants that pull CO₂ from the air. California trucks now burn more renewable diesel than petroleum diesel.

Those “pipeline ready” climate-friendly carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) sCO₂ designs work GREAT for natural gas. And they cost about the same to build and run as the old climate-wrecking combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) electrical plants.

You CAN make fossil fuels a lot more climate friendly IF YOU CAPTURE & SEQUESTER THE EXHAUST BACK IN THE GROUND. Power plant supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO₂) designs can do that.

This is why you see a lot of Allam-Fetvedt Cycle plants going up in California (~1 GW), Canada, Europe, etc.

Clean WHAT?

Quick basics:
‣ Adding CO₂ to the air increases temperature (Arrhenius, 1896).
‣ Fossil coal, natural gas, and petroleum fuels take fossil carbon, burn it, and usually release it.
‣ Releasing CO₂ hurts our climate.
‣ Natural gas prices killed coal.

Current patriarchal white supremacy in the USA:
1. Males are about half of the U.S.
2. In 2010 non-Hispanic anglos were about 64% of the U.S.
3. Proportional numbers would be 1 in 3 leaders.

But many Americans hate basic math when it leads to cognitive dissonance:

If you’d like to know more – and you’re not an American conservative, because they view the UN IPCC as heretical and liberal and other buzzwords for bad, so this is verboten to you – you might check out the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

“On the contrary, the other three top emitters decreased their emissions in 2022, with Russia showing the largest decrease (-2.4%).”

End quoting.
Good stuff, indeed!
And, again, this is EU data.
Don’t be delusional and blame “liberal U.S. politics.”

Quoting:
“China, the United States, India, the EU27, Russia and Brazil were the six world largest GHG emitters in 2022. Together they account for 50.1% of global population, 61.2% of global Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 63.4% of global fossil fuel consumption and 61.6% of global GHG emissions.

Reminder of the basics:
• Nobel laureate Svante Arrhenius worked out the math in 1896.
• GHG like carbon dioxide (CO₂) and CH₄ warm the planet’s atmosphere.
• UNLESS YOU CAPTURE THE CO₂, fossil petroleum fuels increase atmospheric CO₂.
• Renewable biomass fuels use CO₂ from the air, and don't.
