I love Talarico AND Crockett. For the primary I’m all in for Talarico; if she wins the primary, I’ll be all in for her in the mid-terms! I feel Talarico’s not-so-secret advantage is that he actually is what R voters in Texas like to imagine themselves: Christian, civil, honest, clean cut… and white.

James is sincerely religious and is also a HUGE advocate for the separation of church and state. I know him personally, and he’s not a patriarchal type at all.

I’m in Houston and directly affected. It’s absolutely wild to me that the President, my governor, my senators and the Supreme Court all just colluded to disenfranchise me.

I’m going from $900/mo premium to $1500/mo. I’ll be able to (just) swing this, but I’ll feel it all year long. Others won’t be this fortunate. But this outcome means that A LOT of people are going to have to touch the stove all day, everyday for the next year. This is still Republicans’ fault.

Mine’s going to be $1,500/month. That’s $18,000/year. I’m a single-person household and the median annual income for households like mine in Texas is $41,000.

One thing I’ve never seen a woman co-worker do? Take a nap at work. Men? I’ve seen at least three snoozing away at their desks. (I’m sure there are more who just have more privacy!)

Which means he will just SAY that everything is now “affordable.” My ACA premium is going to be $1500/month. Affordable? I won’t be able to afford much else!

Honestly, this is my neighborhood and we actually have TXDOT people to take care of stuff like that. He just made more work for the guys who know how to do this right.
PS one of my students had dinner at his house one night and let’s just say we just call him “Six-Taco Ted” now.

LOL I have two college friends who I met when we all lived in the same dorm. Their “meet cute” was at our 20th reunion. Still married after another 20 years!
