People like that will be angry about something because no matter what, it's always someone else to blame for their life not being milk and honey, which won't change because their problems are not caused by the EU, forigeners or people on benefits.

For people of Tice's class and background it is really hard to not cause offence. They live their whole lives in gilded cages unaware of the pain and offence their trite comments and banter can cause others. Cf. Farage, Nigel, Johnson, Boris.

TBH - the price being extracted by the US for a few crumbs isn't worth it. Their insistence the US dumping low regulation food and US style origin and nutrition labelling on all UK food would close the door on UK food exports to the EU and import US obesity levels.

If you were a Christian of any sort you'd use your position to take guns out of the hands of private citizens. Too many have shown they cannot be trusted with them and the gun lobby doesn't police itself and root out bad gun owners. Prayers won't help. Scrapping the 2nd amendment will.

You've hit the nail on the head. Control was never going to come back to Parliament even, never mind the people. Just look at the exit legislation, all regulatory powers that came back were vested in ministers, without parliamentary oversight. "I'm Henry VIII, I am" brought to life.

That's where my optimism begins to fade. First there has to be an election, free or otherwise, and second Vance, Trump Jr or some other madman doesn't win. So many hurdles.

European leaders are keeping their heads down in the belief that the US comes to its senses in three years (or 12 months the GOP gets a good kicking in November) and he'll be gone or lose potentcy. I wish I shared their optimism.
