Remembering my Grandfather, Ernest Renyard, who, on this day 85 years ago in 1940 was killed by a bomb while on duty as a Special Constable at Hardley, #NewForest. He was a #WW1 veteran and worked as a local blacksmith, having served as a #farrier in the Royal Field Artillery 1914-1921. #OnThisDay

The Boat-tailed Grackle at Calshot Spit this morning. Expert opinion seems to be this guy hitched a ride on a ship over from North America and this is the first sighting of this type of bird in the UK. Plenty of people there to see it #birdphotography #grackle
