60 something gay guy, living in London's finest suburb since birth. Well, someone has to...
Interests? Art, photography, French literature, politics (though not a bore)
GFX100s with a plethora of old Pentax 645/67, Contax CY and Canon EF lenses.
A bit of architectural detail. The V&A museum is more than a house for exhibits, the building itself is one as well. This is part of the balustrade next to the pavement on Exhibition Road.

I've had a lot of fun with a Pentax 67 120 soft lens. I love the dreamy look it creates.

This is a detail from the 'Campbell sisters dancing a waltz', c1821-2

I've been visiting the V&A museum for a long time and didn't really take much notice of this exhibit, Swarm Study III, 2011, London. Made by Random International in association with Carpenters Workshop Gallery. It's made of computer-controlled LEDs in polished brass rods.

I've been a member of the V&A for nearly ten years, and something catches my eye every visit (weekly, as it happens).
the eye can begin to overlook familiar objects or their surroundings.
I try to avoid that and I look left, right, down & up.

V&A stairwell.

A small detail from Jun Kanebo's, Colorbox 1-5, 2006. This very colourful work is on display in the glass galleries at the V&A.

The jewellery gallery at the V&A has some spectacular pieces.
I prefer the slightly less sparkly diamondy pieces, like this necklace, designed and made by Alexander Calder, brass wire, c1938, Paris.

Samson and the Philistines at the V&A yet again. Different viewpoint.
Love the starbursts.

Not sure about the lens...I recorded it as Pentax 67 55mm on the camera, but I have a feeling that it's the Pentax 645 FA 35mm instead.

Another V&A pic...

Relief showing three angels, by Giovanni Antonio Amadeo, c1500.

With the right subject, Pentax 67 soft lens is fabulous. I'm still experimenting with it, and it's a lot of fun.

I love museums. The V&A in London is one of my favourites...always something of interest.
Samson and the Philistines, by Vincenzo Foggini, dated 1749.

Spider plant... I noticeD a few weeks ago a tiny, wilted flower. A few days later a new flower bud began to develop. I've been watching it carefully ever since.
Today the flower opened, bloomed & wilted. #GFX100S #PENTAX..6x7..135mmMACRO Kiron-helicoid-extension-tube

Something else that I'm doing at the moment, well not just this minute, of course, is reading French literature.
I used to LOVE reading before Covid 19 arrived, then I just lost the joy. I used to read on my ancient Sony Ereader, lots of free ebooks from ebooksgratuits.com which has loads of books..

You'll have noticed that nearly all of my photos just posted are in black and white.
That's for two reasons:
Firstly, I love black and white.
Secondly, I'm colour blind. Reds and greens are a problem, together with shades of orange, brown...
Colour correcting is difficult, but B&W gets around that!

No doubt you're wondering, you ARE wondering, aren't you? what on earth there is to spend ages and ages in a museum worth photographing.
Well, the exhibits, naturally, and then the odd things that catch my eye.
I do, of course, take photos elsewhere, but I'm not keen on flashing a camera outdoors.
