Perhaps the lack of reasonable rental properties should be thought about first.

You just hate landlords. 😅

Who's reducing rights? More rights have come in. People need to be housed at a cost and quality that doesn't leave them destitute

They only buy what they can let, so it's not disproportionate. Many small landlords are giving up because the hassle isn't worth it. I worry about those in need.

The housing situation is a mess in the UK. Thatcherism and neo liberalism are behind it. It's like immigration, it's used to wind people up against others.

The rental sector is not responsible for the price of houses! The lack of managed social housing is a major issue. The lack of local government finance has led to the lack of supervision of rental properties. None of this is specifically caused by individual landlords.

You are obviously against private landlords. Affordable housing is not affordable to a lot of people, social housing is what is needed. Better owned by local councils. I have had to rescue a couple from a housing association house, so that they are not always the answer.

Rentals are needed by people unable to buy or don't want to buy. In my area rents are increasing due to lack of supply. There has been no effort by the state to supply social housing.

I have voted labour for years in the hope that proper social housing would be built. Landlords don't hoard them, if they are not let the landlord is losing money. Around me second homes are a major problem.

Doubt it, the councils don't have the finances to sort out landlords and rents will increase.

Less rental stock, higher rents. There won't be an improvement in qualifying landlords as councils don't have the finances to prosecute

They have pushed a lot of small landlords out of the market and the rental market is getting very tight. I worry about those who need to rent.

It's taking a lot of rental properties off the market, I worry about those who need to rent, it's getting a lot tougher for them.

I have read statements along these lines from him in the past. He has a good reputation. Sorry I can't refer you to the original. 😟

What happens to the people who need or want to rent? There aren't enough properties to rent in my area so rents are going up.
