Myself? Hmm. Educated Texan, older than I ever expected to be. Whether that was luck or curse, I'm not sure. I feel exhausted and confined in a world I no longer recognize as home; Stranger in a Strange Land had an enormous effect on me.
III. "The Nation is essentially the source of all sovereignty; nor can ANY INDIVIDUAL, or ANY BODY OF MEN, be entitled to any authority which is not expressly derived from it."

II. The end of all political associations is the preservation of the natural and imprescriptible rights of man; and these rights are liberty, property, security, and resistance of oppression.

I. Men (and Women) are born, and always continue, free and equal in respect of their rights. Civil distinctions, therefore, can be founded only on public utility.

Not in violence rise you, but in righteous anger and ignore the siren songs of the oilygarchs. Buy not their goods nor services. Turn to your neighbors and townspeople. Join together and create a new union of Justice and Service for yourselves. We have each other, if only we will it and make it so.

Against the corpses and oilygarchs. Rise up, oh Children of the Union, and smite the snakes and worms that assail your homes and children. The faceless fiends that kidnap your neighbors, friends, and families. Remember that you are a free people who have slept but are now awakening.

I just hear, feel so many voices in Welles' music and lyrics. Would love to hear him riff on Walls of Marble or This Land is My Land. It is time, no, it is past time for a new wave of protest and building songs. Some new Union songs, boycott, and strike songs. We all need to boycott and strike.

Sometimes I feel like a motherless child. Sometimes I feel like a motherless child. A long, long way from my home.

I have been listening to Jesse Welles since I accidentally discovered him last week. Damn! the Guthries, Dylan, the Highwaymen, Country Joe, Jefferson Airplane, Simon, Hank Williams

I haven't been here in a minute, maybe two. I'm 72 going on dead. I don't remember what anymore, like I used to, anyway. But I remember somewhere in the mists of time that there was a B-democracy in these parts, but now everything seems to be a cattle train to a darkness that reminds me of Mordor.
