One of my favourite bands from Ottawa, Canada will be touring the UK next February. They are The Besnard Lakes wish they were in Bath, Bristol or Frome as well !

"Ressurection (on the forest floor)" comes with the pre-order for the ESP Project release - Velvet Crunch. Some nice power chord guitars with pulsating keyboards and powerful, solid drumming from Mark. But I love the vocals of Peter Coyle. His dreamy, flowing vocals carry you along with the flow.

With special thanks to Robin Armstrong I have been able to listen to the excellent new cosmograf album The Orphan Epoch. Ranging from heavier attacking electric through to melodic and acoustic. The music is strong, powerful and driving without losing its delicacy and melody. An excellent album !

Last night Rick and Chrissy aka The Blackheart Orchestra, played to a sold out Crediton Arts Centre in Devon. A nice and cosy venue with a good atmosphere and friendly vibe.

A wonderful gig last night at Pound Arts - Corsham with The Blackheart Orchestra. Once again we were made so welcome by the fabulous, friendly staff. A real pleasure to be there especially for Pauline and I as this is as close as we get to a home gig ! Absolutely Joy !

So, two weeks, four gigs, and just over 1000 miles later, The Blackheart Orchestra's "Better Than Me" Tour is well underway. I must say the band is playing superbly well for so early into the tour.
It's time for us to have a little break from merch duties as the band heads a little further north.

Playing tonight as support to The Blackheart Orchestra at Hanger Farm Arts Centre, Southampton is the lovely Beth Eliza. It's nice to see young musicians still prepared to push themselves forward even when they know that the rewards and riches of the past are no longer there to be had.

So, that's the first night of the new tour complete and of course it wouldn't be The Blackheart Orchestra without a few heart stopping moments. Including two visitations from the first night ghost. Despite this a very successful, if subdued first night is under the belt !
