I had someone a while ago try to explain to me what TG4 and 'Northern Ireland' is as if I just got here. Again, I just laughed inside me but I am often suprised that it seems yet people haven't reckoned with our existence.

You're not denying your roots, you're simply acknowledging what is your everyday experience. Anyway it's subjective, and of course different for everyone.

Disappointing to see.

I had a really good conversation with someone about this very topic today. It's all about surrending from others' presumptions and amplifying your own voice.

It also places a pressure of expectation on people, which is very unfair. No one person can 'fix' anything or be a 'saviour'. It's a collective effort. Something I've experienced and having more boundaries has helped.

Also allow for individuality and authencity. Neither group are a monolith!

What happened to people just being people?

Not to mention being put in an even smaller box if you're both!
