A map showing the path of Hernando De Soto's Expedition in what is known as the Southeast of the United States of America. De Soto was a Spanish Conquistador that is labeled a hero by some for discovering the Mississippi River. On his expedition, he and his men would harass Indigenous communities. After attempting to do the same to the Chickasaw Nation, the Spaniards would be hit with a surprise attack by the tribe and would end with them fleeing out of Chickasaw Territory heavily wounded.
