They actually have no power to do more than that because people didnt VOTE for enough of them.

What exactly should they be doing? Step by step. Remember they have no power in the minority position they're in. Can't block things, can't stop things.

What exactly do you think they should do?
March 1, 2025 at 6:47 AM
Its actually all they can really do in the minority position. What is your plan?
March 1, 2025 at 6:46 AM
Replies to this show that people dont want action, they just want quips. And to hate democrats even when doing all they can. Its no-win. 🤦

They are. Search out more sources I guess, but there are protests and dozens upon dozens of lawsuits. Thats about all they can do while the minority in all chambers.

Its probably part of them pushing for impoundment- giving the power of spending approval to the president and violating the separation of powers. At least a few Dem senators are pushing back against that part.

And then NASA gets 20x the results. Slow and steady wins the race and does the work. Starship is now the last of its group of launchers to reach orbit when it originally looked like it was going to be the first.

By Apollo they had stopped with the "exploding" part. No Saturn blew up. Theres a reason the industry moved to a process which has resulted in several rockets being successful without blowing up a single time!

It also distracts from realistic efforts to just study it! NASA's job does not include colonization and their studying sending a team of scientists there for a few years have been attacked constantly. Even though thats already a goal thats realistic

If you gave nasa the budget they needed it would be within the decade. They'll be around the moon next year. Elon can only do this because the government cheaped out.
January 18, 2025 at 6:55 AM
Reasonable risk is an important concept! We're asking these people to take huge risks in unexplored places- we should not be asking them to add "will the spacecraft randomly blow up" to that list.

There are, they just are focused on getting the republicans into power as much as possible.

Hes willing to set the agency back if it means only SpaceX gets contracts. Even if it takes even longer it doesn't matter so long as he gets his favorite company (that he owns stock in) priority treatment. This also cuts out the public benefit of the process. (commercial contracts have no public IP)

Considering the people in charge of the government, a multi payer system is probably best. Its what a lot of Europe does.

They don't see it as a problem, they'd like to be that person probably.

Yeah this kind of shows how much she cares about anything, least of all decency.
