It’s not just fine, it’s good. British politics and journalism is far too America-brained.
It’s not just that British ministers shouldn’t *need* to comment on the minutiae of US politics, I’d argue that they generally *should not* be giving us their hot takes on it.

We should not be revoking benefits based on “close enough” and ignoring edge cases as unimportant.
(By the way, recent changes in the border regime with ETA and EES mean it’s increasingly likely dual citizens are leaving on their foreign passport and returning on their British one.)
