It’s a BIG DEAL to celebrate 10 years of frontline organizing, especially when those in power are trying to stop us. Last week, @frontandcentered.org turned TEN(!) and our teammates traveled up to WA to celebrate and be in community with them. We’re forever grateful for you and inspired by you, F&C!

We’ve won real change, and it’s worth celebrating (again). Last week, @tinakotek.bsky.social signed the FAIR Energy Act into law, which will keep energy bills from skyrocketing. This win proves our work matters. That our communities are powerful. That we're building the energy future we deserve.

The same system that drives the climate crisis also exploits workers, especially farmworkers who face extreme heat, wildfire smoke, and flooding while keeping our communities fed. We’re taking #LaborDay off because we believe in a future where no one has to risk their lives to put food on our table.

Yesterday, we stood with @tinakotek.bsky.social as she signed new energy bills into law, including the FAIR Energy Act, which will protect Oregonians from constant rate hikes. We thank her for helping to ease bills, especially for those who most bear the brunt of this tough economy. #EnergyJustice

No one should lose power during a #HeatWave 😤🥵 These Oregon rules temporarily protect people from shutoffs & help qualified folks get reconnected w/o paying fees during #ExtremeHeat. These rules are only temporary, but allies like @oregoncub.bsky.social are working to make them permanent.
If an extreme heat warning, watch, or advisory is issued, PGE, Pacific Power and Idaho Power can’t shut off your power for nonpayment, and you’re protected until 48 hours after it ends. If you have a medical certificate or you’re on a bill discount program and were disconnected in the last 7 days, call PGE, PP, or IP to be reconnected at no upfront cost to you. If your power was shut off up to 72 hours before a heat watch, you can also be reconnected without paying reconnection fees.
