Metro-North expanding to Albany got me thinking. And I've a question for those more in the know about rail and policy in NYC…would it be feasible to run a metro-north train from Penn up to the Hudson line at Spuyten Duyvil making more stops in Manhattan on its way uptown? Voila! west side subway!

Even in the purple light, people must stand around, some in very large groups between retractable belt stanchions. It is reminiscent of JFK's Terminal 1 after 9/11. Beautiful architecture now secondary to security theater. But here, the theater is wrought by sheer incompetence rather than fear.

Moynihan Train Hall, beautifully bathed in a violet light, but lacking in several of the prosaic elements that *train* implies… (seriously…the clock's not enough. See alt.)
