Yes! Log on to spend dollars frictionlessly, and then log off and literally disappear when you’re done!

The neoliberal dream is kind of one where no one lives anywhere. Capital and its owners flow freely from place to place in search of the best tax haven and cheapest labor, and laborers work until they die or the shift ends and they go, miraculously, *elsewhere*

When America gets on about deporting Mexicans, the people doing it KNOW that America runs in large part on migrants. They want to get us to the Singapore model: where we are hire/fire, they want Hire/Fire/Deport. Anyone not spending or producing capital in a given moment must literally be removed

So the once anti-nationalist neoliberals say “nations for the nationalists”. Let people focus on their nationalism and xenophobia, even tho they depend on other peoples. Let the people enforce the neoliberal goal: money moves freely, people must not

They saw unions as obstacles blocking the “freedom” of money to access labor. States could be used to break the unions open to get at the creamy labor inside, and if the state could be made to lower tariffs then they werent any kind of threat

Later, the neoliberals accepted that humans, like the economy, are not completely rational (or however they defined rationality to be). Culture exists! So nationality could not be ignored. They decided that states were actually great for breaking unions. Neat!

They saw national boundaries as archaic and to be overcome, not by people necessarily, but by money. Money must be free. The businessman, of course, by extension, must be as unencumbered as his money

If I make a marble run, and then drop a marble into it, I can marvel at how “the marble rolls unbidden, pulled by the invisible, relentless force of gravity towards the only logical destination for that marble” but that’s a fucking stupid way to talk since we all know I built the marble run

In this way there is no such thing as “small government”. The distinction is whether you think we can meaningfully steer the economy, or whether you think that and pretend you don’t so as to hide your own effects from yourself

They sought not to plan the economy but to build the world that the economy could live in. They were building a house of god for the lord. Government was for them a place to make a container for the true power, which is the economy

Thiel closes the loop and says the CEO is the monarch, and we need a king because the plebs would eat their own fingers

Colonialism adds race as an extension of class, yeah? Neoliberal post colonialism is where the plebs can’t govern and the proof is that they are not rich. Wealth is proof of intelligence and good governance. Again, the wealthy are the only ones fit to rule

Aristocracy is when the plebs can’t govern because they haven’t been refined, plebs haven’t the wits or bravery or beauty, they just don’t know shit and their character is small
