Oh I definitely agree a lot of them are being made for fighting game fans! In my opinion, many devs are probably doing this too much, although most of them seem to be fans of games that I don't think of as originally having been mostly "arcade" games.

I think its just because fgs are multiplayer. Indie arena shooters are also not taking off. The only indie multiplayer games that feel like they have succeeded are "friendslop" designed to play with people you actually know (not queueing to randoms), and thats too dependent on twitch to work for fgs

@puzzlewednes.day is a great way to learn about new (to you) arcade puzzle games

Hard to imagine someone who wants the game to succeed saying something like that. I think the scenes for all the other games you are interested in will be lucky to benefit from the work you do next year.

I usually think of CT as being part of new england (in general, not related to fighting games), and based on a little bit of research it seems like that is usually the consensus. Also the logo for the site includes them haha. In terms of FGC, they do feel like a distinct but related scene

There's also a lot of stuff in Connecticut that isn't included here at all, but idk if they should be included in NE for our purposes (and just in general this site is better at including most stuff in ma than other states)

I think you could link me for "retro" brackets and maybe tamn for snk stuff. In general, it seems rally hard to keep the calendar up to date so I'm not sure how much utility it has vs a list of things that happen regularly together with links to see the details about those events.
