I bought a Steam Deck months ago because there was too much contention for the gaming computer when I was playing Oblivion remastered. Amazing side effect: almost no simulator sickness!
I'm tempted to try Obduction again. It reduces me to laying on the floor after 30 minutes.

I've started journaling my adventures in Subnautica. It helps me keep track of what I'm doing, immerse myself more deeply (haha), and use up fountain pen ink. I write out objectives for my next session at the end of every entry. I wish I'd thought of this when playing Oblivion; it's fun!

I love stumbling on random bools at the library. I picked up The Dancing Plague by Gareth Brookes. It’s a graphic novel about the collective dancing compulsion that swept Europe several times from 1374 to 1518. It was on the shelf next to my table.

Shitty business idea: genetically engineering weed to not smell.

My #parrot is living his best life: the human/parrot flock is all together, he's watching my husband play a video game, and I periodically deliver snacks direct to his beak.

Trainer told us to tighten our abs during planks as if we were going to get punched in the stomach. Classmate said that was an unlikely experience and I informed the class that Jenny Warner sucker-punched me in the stomach in grade school and I got in trouble for tattling when I told a teacher.

Major achievement in beginning strength training: I was complimented by two different teachers on my deadlift form. This is huge considering I once landed myself in physical therapy due to poor deadlift form.

I’m focusing on two things right now: improving my ability to focus and sitting properly on my living room chair instead of lying across it horizontally, forming myself into a C shape. I think the latter might be the more difficult.

It cracks me up when my parrot begs and begs for me to share food I know he hates then gives me a look of disgust and betrayal when he tastes it. Today I let him have a sip of my matcha latte (oat milk). He tried it and literally spit it back out into my face.

I discovered that my city requires you to list the plants you’ll be planting when going through permitting for building a house. They must be native and listed in this book. Odd that they use a third party resource but nice in that it’s a huge list. lonepinebooks.com/product/plan...

A nice thing about switching planners mid-year is that I have tons of pages to experiment with different writing tools, layouts, etc.

Fountain pen and Hobonichi friends: has anyone tried out Kakimori antique brass dip nibs on 2025/2026 planners? I‘d like to have a line width similar to my TWISBI fine and Pilot Falcon EF nibs as I write small. Also, probably Diamine forever or De Atrementis inks.

First thing to make me laugh today.
If you wonder what will happen when the rapture occurs tomorrow, check out the classic film A Thief in the Night. Lots of kids raised evangelical saw this when we were way too young and are still a little traumatized. The third is especially nightmare fuel.

I bought "Pacific Northwest Line Drawing" on a whim. I don't have much artistic talent but I'd like to develop it. Maybe I'll apply my ADHD coping skills this time so it doesn't end up with all the other projects I've started and abandoned.

Fountain pen fanatic nightmare: I’m at a class where I’m taking notes and brought two pens. One is almost out of ink so I brought a backup. I didn’t check the ink in the second pen, so now I’m stuck using a pencil. May this be the worst thing that happens to me.

I bought my first 5-year techo! I love the idea of seeing what I was doing on previous days each year, though I have to wait til 2027. I need to get more disciplined about writing each day, since I barely keep up with writing notes about each day in my planner.

Fountain pen friends, what do you covet but can’t justify? Mine: this glass dip pen and inkwell. It’s too expensive and fragile for how much I’d use it. But it hits my sweet spot for interesting and weird. It looks like Hermaeus Mora would use.

I intend not to get political on here (I can get that literally anywhere), but need to scream into the void. It’s ridiculous that I’m researching if I can get the COVID vaccine in CA as a nonresident US citizen. I should be eligible in the US due to asthma, but will it actually be available? Fuck.
