waiting for that third-person mod, for that exact reason

never finished that one but it always felt a bit generic. does it pick up later? or maybe what I should ask you instead, is what were the things that make you say it is an absolute favorite?

was there anything specific or difficult about modifying the japanese save file to be USA compatible? didn't realize it could swap regions for you and actually work, thought it was just for backing up and restoring

the soundtrack is so good that, even though the game itself is not my cup of tea (dragon-induced gameover nothx), I still listen to it all the time. phenomenal stuff that was like a precursor to his work on Final Fantasy XII. it's ok to skip the game and enjoy the soundtrack.

yeah, same. such a memorable vibe. the interface and presentation was so immersive and the soundtrack was phenomenal. it was my first time with SRPG that you get to upgrade (or aim your attacks at, in battle) individual parts. the remake was extremely disappointing. it made me play the original, lol

yeah tried this and couldn't get into it. its fine but feels far less polished than the real thing. it really does feel like it leans way too hard into trying to look like Advance Wars instead of doing its own thing.

wild, never knew they cut over 50% of Vagrant Story to get it out the door. hilariously, Fragrant Story cut 95% due to deadlines, tho they patched it back in later. maybe Matsuno can do the same if they release on modern consoles. CPU companion party members in Vagrant Story yes please

wow never heard of this. like an early precursor to Valkyria Chronicles or a mix of Advance Wars. gotta check this out, the look of it is just really enticing. good music too

genius move for being so memorable, never seen anything quite like it in any other series and really drives home the M-rating. the sound effects for it were really, like "wet" and over the top too lol

him and the other stars likely signed on cuz they knew it was a 20 hour game. they cut 95% content cuz of deadlines. but they added it back in for free in 2023, makes it an excellent SRPG now. seriously one of my favs. pretty sure still downloadable on 3DS shop, I got the update earlier this year

is this the kind of thing, where you can allow that to be changed by the player while the game is running, or only on your developer-side? not a lot of games let you do that, but it would be really fun to see the different options in real-time
