Was a lot of fun to watch the players (who were all first time players) cope with the meta knowledge that he was a doppelganger but none of their characters knew

When he returned to the campaign, i told him in front of the group that he awakens gagged and bound in a dark room. Then I cut to the players and had the scene start by having the character bring them all breakfast and call one of them by another's name. All of the players lost their minds 😂

When I ran a campaign a few years ago, it had some doppelgangers in it. Then one of my players had to take a several sessions off. So I played as his character while he was gone. I made him do some things that were a bit harsher than he would do..
