All day, protests erupted across Aotearoa New Zealand, opposing the government and their political attacks on Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. And the NZ Herald has completely buried the story, it's not on the front page of their website which signals where their interest lies.

The great thing about this windy weather is that it cools down the batch of peanut brownies that are fresh from the oven before the next batch is ready to come out (thankfully my baking hasn’t blown away … yet).

I never think about the Roman Empire.
But what I do think about is my Māori ancestors and how they left Hawaiki (the exact location is still a mystery!), navigating the vast Pacific Ocean in their waka before finally discovering Aotearoa and settling in the 12th Century.
