If you are late to this party, can’t recommend it enough. My new favorite detective. Smart, funny and so much fun.

#DayMade In library work there is no higher praise than a student who runs in and says, omg Ms. C that thing you showed me about how to access around the paywall (different versions on G Scholar) it worked. It saved me! I didn't pick full text in EBSCO but I still got my article! #LibraryLife

I've read much of Oyeyemi's writing & always take something away from her books. (The space my heart still holds for Gingerbread!) If you are new to her, this newest one is a good place to start. Lighter than some of her other books, accessible and often lighthearted. #RecommendedReading #Booksky
Though I often struggle with surrealism, Helen Oyeyemi’s books always work for me. Enjoying the newest on #audiobook #BookSky

It's never too late to grasp that if someone works full-time and receives SNAP, it means YOUR taxpayer dollars are subsidizing the COMPANY because it refuses to pay them a livable wage.

PSA: if you are still struggling with the "load my id" to verify you're an adult, none of these filter settings are available to you. So, that's also a consideration.
Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

Pulling together a list of AI-critical folks for my school, and am particularly those who can talk critically about AI in K-12 and to a lesser extent higher ed. I have a bunch of names already, but would love to get the crowdsourcing on this for anyone I might have missed.

100% agree. Currently getting great engagement with voting everyday bracket style on random food pairings.
I've said this several times on here, but the best thing you can do in your middle or upper school library is put up a white board with ice breakers and passive activities like word games, riddles, or puzzles.

“The sun was still submerged in the wintry murk of dawn when Ba, Dadaji, and their daughter, Mina Foi, wrapping shawls closely about themselves, emerged upon the veranda to sip their tea and decide, through vigorous process of elimination, their meals for the rest of the day.”
From The Twenty Days of Turin by Giorgio De Maria:

“His name, in itself, will mean close to nothing nowadays to people caught up in very different business from our own, but we’ll give it regardless: Giovanni Bergesio.”

Hey Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania: your school board elections are next week and wouldn't you know it, the current board just banned two books this week?

Books banned are THE HATE U GIVE and THE GLASS CASTLE.

There is power in the focus & the telling. While not always an easy read, It is a hopeful one offering empowering examples, evidence & heroes for now.Primary message: when one thinks they have no choices, value or power, reconsider. Bonus: Jackson narrates the audiobook #Booksy #RecommendedReading
