the best day of the year for me is hearing my first broad-tailed hummingbird (it’s a ways off yet)…then panicking about running home (if i’m not already) post-haste, making nectar, cooling it, and setting out a feeder to show the hummers i’m the best feeder-tender 😂

one tip (has worked for me): with cans of her favorite food, visit places near your home where she might be hiding (think like a cat). i calmly, quietly mosey around and at any potential hiding spot, crouch down, loudly open the can and see if she creeps out. good luck, such a stressful scenario 🤞
