For me, the Thunderbolt hub with KVM integrated is worth it because I switch between a work laptop and private desktop at least twice a day, for others that might be irrelevant.
Personally I don’t enjoy ultrawide screens, as I end up working in the middle anyway

I’ve just gone a different path, but one data point.
Added a second 27”, 4K display to my existing 27” 1440p and I’m super happy. Lots of surface area, though.
I chose the Dell Ultrasharp U2725QE, they also make a 40” ultrawide version.

However, there’s been criticism, too, based on where the food comes from, eg how much is from waste material and not grown for this purpose. The original claim is probably exaggerated, but not completely made up.
