I've noticed the candid quality too. His enablers adhere to a strict party line but since he says what he wants he often contradicts them and/or reveals truths that they won't. Sometimes it seems like he enjoys contradicting them.

I feel like my co-workers don't get it, either! I'm not sure why they're so dismissive of my concerns, it's like they're so blinded by its (somewhat dubious) pros that they refuse to see its cons.

I work for a small nonprofit and everyone seems to be using it, often for things they did just fine without it. I brought it up in a staff meeting, suggesting we create policies around it and possibly even slow down using it, and everyone looked at me like I was the crazy one. :(

It's so true. I live in the 40th and the way the community has come together has been something to behold. Seeing my neighbors step up for ice patrol every day has been heartwarming. A beacon of hope amid the shitstorm.

I don't know the full story, I only remember that she used her connections to get him not just published but a hugely successful marketing campaign for the book. I remember being baffled at the hype after I read it because it was so bad. Zero substance or solutions.

Yes. Back when Twitter was still good, someone posted something like "Trump has never played Magic with friends" and I still think about that, how he clearly has no idea about life's simple pleasures or normal human connections. He's just empty. They both are.

I have been saying this for years. Everyone in the MAGA movement is motivated by owning the libs. One example in a friend's small city in Indiana: a coal plant was scheduled to be shut down by 2028. Now the MAGA governor has decided to keep it open. Just because he know it angers the libs.
