Back to back gotcha days in our house! Today's gotcha day is brothers Thor and Loki. For over 12 years now, they've shared with us the most amazing bond, like nothing I've seen before. Truly BFFs that were meant to spend their lives together. They are such a happy place for me.😻

Photo of ginger brothers Thor and Loki. Thor is long hair and Loki is short hair. When we first met them, they were about to be adopted separately, and we were the only ones who saw Loki's face when they took his brother away. He was devastated. At that moment, we told the rescue place that we want them both, and please try to get that other person interested in another cat besides Thor. And they did. The brothers have been part of our lives since before they were even a year old, and even after all these years, they show us regularly that we did right by them. I couldn't imagine our house without them.

Happy Cheeseburger Day! Today is Beezle's gotcha day - the most charismatic cat I've ever known. A feisty, hissy kitten, the only thing I had to win her over was a vending machine cheeseburger. 😸 Today we share happy memories, fancy cheeseburgers & celebrate her glorious life. ❤️

A selfie of me and our cat named Bug. She's the feistiest, craziest, most lovable demon child I've ever known. She has total control over us. For example... we can pet her, and she'll grab our hand, claws out, chomp down and bite us, and we'll be like... "OMG Bug I love you too!" I think it's safe to say that she owns us. Or... maybe she just likes the taste of our blood? Hmmmm....

In the photo of Loki, he's sitting on a couch, on his butt, sort of like a human. His belly is facing the camera, back legs sticking out weirdly, front paws propped up, supporting his "sitting up" position. I think he was actually grooming at the time, but I had the camera, saw this pose, and went "LOKI!", and he looked up at me (because he knows his name), thus I snapped this glorious photo. This was taken several years ago, when he was still overweight, making his proportions look even more ridiculous. Since this photo, he's lost about 5 lbs! Though an old man now, and he's been fighting intestinal lymphoma for nearly 2 years now, but regardless, he's still our most perfect, silly ginger, forever blessed with the heart of a kitten. Our lives are truly better with him in it.

There's a new baby bun in our back yard. It's barely 3 in long, and I'm in love. There's probably others. Well, they all kinda look the same, so it's probably not the same bun every time. Regardless, I shall name it... Henrietta. When the world is dark, it helps to find light in the simplest things.

Mrs. Bun has quite the camouflage. She chills like this nearly every day, in front of the big tree in our back yard. I can go outside, and she looks up at me as if to say "'sup?"... and then just goes right back to chillin'. Love her. Her and her family call our yard "home", and I'm so here for it.
Image of one of the cotton tail rabbits that lives in our back yard. Based on my research, it's the Mama. She's chilling out in front of our big tree, laying down, ears back, eyes partially closed, looking like a really happy, chill rabbit. And she should be - she lives with her family under our patio. I don't know for sure, but given the time that has passed, I'm pretty sure multiple generations have called the safety of our back yard "home". And as long as I live here, they will always and forever be welcome and protected.

Photo of our tortie cat Gracie when she was just 2 weeks old. She's peeking out over the edge of the box that we kept all of Prudence's kittens in, until they were old enough to explore beyond that. Prudie was a great mama, and spent most of the time in the box with her babies, doing what all good mamas do. Gracie's eyes had just recently opened, a mere days before this photo, so she's just discovering the amazing universe around her. We kept her of course, as well as Mama Prudence and all the rest of her kids, so we've had the most amazing privilege of watching them go from their very first breath to the wonderful, crazy characters they've become today. They have all truly blessed us.

Image of our cat Bug next to the t-shirt I created from the image. It was during her 2nd birthday party that I managed to capture the image. She was mid-play, laying on her side with her legs flailing wildly as she chased after a toy just outside the photo. When I rotated the image vertically, it suddenly looked like she was balancing on one of her back feet, mid jump as she traveled through the air. It instantly reminded me of parkour, so I added a cityscape behind her, and drew in some steps beneath her, as if she was parkouring through the city streets.

Today we wish a happy 9th birthday to Prudence's kids! It's hard to believe 9 years have passed since they took their first breaths after a difficult pregnancy. It's been one of the greatest joys of our life watching them all grow up together. Happy 9th birthday, Prudie kids! ❤️

The best photo I've ever taken of Prudence's kids. They are maybe 8 weeks old in this photo, and all six of them are piled into a window perch, all intermingled and laying on top of each other. It looks like a staged photo, but it's not. All six babies absolutely loved hanging out together when they were kittens. They could often be seen piling on top of each other in small spaces. This photo of one of the rare moments I managed to capture it. Photo of Prudence with her babies, shortly after they were born, all six of them nursing on her, while she is looking at the camera saying "I can't believe you're taking a picture of this!" A photo of baby kittens Vincent and Boris, from about 6 years ago. Vincent is a ginger, and resembles a lion cub in this photo, and Boris is all black, resembling a tiny baby bear. They were the first two to be born. Of Prudie's six kids, three are carbon copies of her, these two perfect black and ginger, and then the sixth is a combination of all their colors. Another rare occasion to capture this moment - a more recent photo of Prudence with all her grown-up kids. The photo is labeled with all their names. In the middle is Mama Prudence, and from left to right are her kids Ingrid, Vincent, Boris, Humphrey, Gracie and Audrey.
