I feel like if it was a good experience for you, that’s totally okay to keep that happy feeling. A convention is more than just its staff; the attendees, vendors, and artists all make up a part of that scene.

So, when we see each other next time I’ll give you the lowdown. It’s crazy what I have heard. I just don’t want to make it super public what I know about because I am not 100% sure of anything outside my personal experience with them (which was awful).

Yeah, the stories I have heard are wild. I was actually warned not to work with them but I really wanted to be involved with cons from my home state. 😞 I should have listened 😭

I’m furious 😤 Was talking to these guys just about a week ago and they accepted my art without mentioning that oops the con might not even happen. No con = no compensation for me, since I was getting a free table to sell my books at.

Other than that, I really don’t know about the longevity of some of these other anime cons in OK. But it might be better to just have a few trustworthy cons instead of a bunch competing with each other for attendees 😅

Tokyo in Tulsa rebranded but they are still kicking! I’ll be there next year and I’m super excited cuz it’s been a couple of years since I was able to go.

@soonercon.com is not technically an anime con but a lot of attendees are clearly anime fans heh. Really friendly atmosphere 💖

It is! I’m actually blacklisting the parent company Fandom Events as well. Everything I’m hearing about them sounds pretty shady.
