They always could have entire conversations without saying anything. She nods, and his smile grows as he crooks a finger at her.

They come together in a needy press of lips and skin, and when Varric calls her "Marian" the next morning she decides it's fine that he never gave her a nickname.

After she gets back from Weisshaupt, Hawke decides she's tired of pretending she's not in love with Varric. After drinks, she follows him back to his room and leans against the inside of his closed door.

Varric catches her look and raises his eyebrows.
