I paid a lot less, the exact one was a Vevor 800W EDM (www.vevor.ca/broken-tap-r...) - seems now discontinued, at the time I think ~$500? When I bought it saved me a lot more than that in fixed parts, so relative to other options "a deal"! And for EDM still low cost....

Here are the broken bits of the tap that I can then knock out of the hole. Didn't even have to clean it up - bolt threaded in (I broke the tap at the end!). Now to get another tap tomorrow and finish it....

Here is my former M4 tap, now with a hole down the center.
It uses a brass electrode that has a very very simple control system to dump current into it (I did a teardown video is the unit a while ago).
