So B is working on a little preface about his mum, and we’re planning to post it in the next few weeks. The title was inspired by one of the pilgrim stories: a woman who had travelled so far beyond her expected station, and far from home, was described as having gone ‘From Out of Her Bounds’. 18/

Tbh I think everyone should put out fic/art that has no audience at least once in your life. It's not typically a COMFORTABLE experience, but it helps you wrest free of the tyranny of The Numbers. Make something you enjoy and don't let the response dictate in post how you felt about the process.

I don't like "Your first draft will be shitty" as advice, because it's a really negative framing.

I prefer, "You have the freedom to be messy creating your first draft."

Anyone crafter knows what their room looks like mid-creation. Writers should be as free to be as exhuberent and messy.
