There is an idea I have where if you try to do a friendship, you get a monkeys paw effect.
friendships would not kill but it would cause effects.

Ex:
if you pull Johnny cage's friendship,
you'd have to pull off one of your fingers and sign it to someone with your own blood.

Shao kahn's vessel would be darker in clothing and would have
dark red skin and sharper teeth. Maybe even yellow eyes.

The demonic entity is capable of making creatures.
Instead of fighting kintaro or the secret characters, you fight its hellish creations.

His design. (What I thought up so far)

The skull helmet that shao kahn wears in the OG is his actual face.
In an earlier tournament that the demonic entity has hosted, it's face was damaged by a skilled scorpion player who almost bested him in his game.

If you don't kill your opponent after beating them, the Shao kahn will make you

The Shao Kahn entity can be defeated but it will try to cheat once he begins to lose. The thought of losing to a human soul In his domain angers him.
Beating his game would send him back to hell to suffer for eternity

He collects souls from those who play the machine but not before he challenges them.
(most have failed and have remained trapped since)

Once gathered enough souls,
The tournament would commense. he expects to see bloodshed and death done in horrifying ways.
