Still probably the scariest book I ever read.

If you really want to troll call it “The Woke Waybook.”

For me it’s like the saying “always carry 2-3 sources of light – and your phone doesn’t count” or how I carry paper maps + compass. Never assume your phone will work. I can’t imagine putting all my eggs in that one (phone) basket.

Last time I was backpacking in the Yosemite backcountry I was shocked we had cell service the whole time. Even video called my wife! However, I still brought ham radios (and was beaconing APRS) because if cell service was going to go down anywhere it would be there!

I mean, I watch local news sometimes to learn about what construction projects in my city are going to affect my commute, but yeah, even the local stations are sources of fear mongering and propaganda.

While I think I would enjoy permanent Daylight Savings Time, not being a morning person, my particular brain quirks always make me annoyed that we’re pretending it’s noon at 11am during the summer. But honestly, for God’s sake can we just pick a lane?!? So there that’s my contribution to the ritual.

Johnson might claim that Jesus is at the center of his life but what part of the above can you imagine Jesus supporting? There’s nothing “Christ like” about his actions.

It benefits them to keep the government closed. They don’t want it operating anyway. They want to be able to fire people. They want to cancel funding to programs. THEY WANT TO KEEP THE EPSTEIN FILES LOCKED AWAY. They want to do all this while blaming Democrats.

Pretty sure there was another bump super recently. Things went “on sale” and then came back higher priced.

Never been and no interest.

I’m always unsure about the reactions of folks in the two clubs I’m a member of so I join meetings via Zoom. I try not to get involved in non-ham politics with other hams because I assume most lean right and I just don’t have the energy, but the very vocal hatred of masks is just wild to me.
