The last stories wrapped up a few weeks ago, and so here is FAZED, a liminal horror story in 12 parts. Teenagers camping in the woods return to find their town empty, faceless guards on the streets, and lots of little piles of black powder everywhere.

The penultimate chapter of Enthrallment has been posted, my hard sci-fi spiritual deep space mining story. Very hard to research, but a joy to write. The covers were done by Iron Avenue. brianwood.substack.com

Jerks trolling artists, Renaissance Edition, part 2

Ammannati's Neptune, Piazza della Signoria. Locals joked, "Oh, Ammannati, what a beautiful piece of marble you ruined!"

Jerks trolling artists, Renaissance Edition.

Responding to Michaelangelo's Pieta, an example of extreme mastery and tragic beauty, critics complained that his Mary was too young.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains.

Sometimes, it's hard to find inspiration when needed, but looking at this image of a stack of Irvine Welsh books usually does the trick. @irvinewelsh.bsky.social

I like Neal Stephenson. Seveneves is one of my favorites. But when I try and find authors like him, all recommendations are way off and very unsatisfying. And then I find this Michener book from 1965, and yes, this is what I want when I want a book that does for me what Stephenson's books do.

The publishing and media rights to Northlanders have been returned to me, after a not-always-pleasant process with DC Entertainment. Northlanders, at the time, was the first of its kind, at least in American comics. I'm proud of it and thankful to everyone who helped me with it.

One of those classic 70-80's photos with the hair and the Lee jeans and other fashion throwbacks, except this is your actual family.
