Tried some Nitter mirrors to archive Twitter threads more compactly.
nitter.poast.org worked on archive.is, but only a limited number of comments are visible, so it's not robust to branching threads.
Both nitter.poast.org and xcancel.com are incompatible with both archive.is and the Wayback.

GGI also consists of (and was founded in part by) KI2013 devs. Are there any characteristics (perhaps suspected combo system, perhaps something else) that make you suspect it's a MikeZ game specifically?

Depending on how this upscaling is implemented, the models used may be the same as those used in GenAI, trained on the same stolen data and all. It's common for generative models to be used for other purposes besides generation alone. Example tasks include image editing and "super-resolution."

More realistically, they use the same generative models but add/alter some components for the upscaling task, i.e. provide a source video to "condition" the model. This has been referred to as the "foundation model" approach in tech: 1 model, many uses.
