Also, can you share the use case? What’s the goal of the intermediate “selected” state?

While I can’t think of an easy, performant way to do exactly this, putting a little platform under the entity could be an option. Or maybe add a spotlight aimed at the entity.

I’m wondering if there’s a more real-world way to show that your thing is “selected”, like a tag? A sticky note?

I wonder if it developed sugar bloom in the fridge, or possibly absorbed odors from other foods? Like chocolate, I sometimes lose my temper in the cold. 🍫

Just the other day I noticed that some parts of RealityKit API are identical to SceneKit; and realized this deprecation was likely coming. Good to see official word. There’s also this helpful video from WWDC 2025 on migrating.

Wow! Thanks for the follow up with a real solution! Will file this away for when Spatial TikTok makes us all crop to vertical in 2029. 😜

I’m going to try it in Final Cut Pro and see if it crops.

I haven’t tried this, but my first attempt would be to

• send it to an iPhone
• find it in Photos and open it
• choose Edit, then Crop
• tap Crop again if needed to get to aspect ratios
• choose vertical & 9:16

Hopefully it will save the new crop without losing spatial.
