You would have to ask the specific county. ODOT is a partner to local agencies in many cases and we can provide guidance, but we cannot force a local agency to do something.

Ohio is a home-rule state. Any such change would have to happen at the local level as ODOT is not an enforcement agency and does not have jurisdiction on roadways that we do not maintain.

The vehicles they are referencing are our Freeway Safety Patrol vehicles. It’s a good samaritan program sponsored by Geico. This same program has been adopted by many DOTs across the nation. These vehicles are separate from our maintenance fleet. www.transportation.ohio.gov/programs/tsm...
