No sympathy for most dealers. Addicts I knew mostly wanted & tried hard to be clean but society did not care enough to help much if at all & the nature of the beast is relapse is part of getting clean

Wife & I were @ the drug store waiting for our flu & Covid vaxs with a group of people, most wearing poppies. At 11h00 we all observed a moment of silence then sang the national anthem. We honoured all our heroes, no exceptions.

The surviving grandparent moved in with us for 15 years. She was skint and in very poor health. We had terrific experiences with 4 generations in the house at times. The lessons learned last to this day. Some people don’t know about the economy and lack of social assistance in the 60’s and 70’s.

Much older sister made us uncles when I was four. Cribs and all the needed things for a baby appeared out of storage. Most hand made and all put away for decades.

I was around back then. The youngest of three boys. Mother knitted, sewed & repaired stuff. Hand-me-downs and store bought items had to last three cycles.
