The 'Chamber of the Hero' casket in Doom 3 is also implied to be holding the slayer since the Martian society fell, also implying the Martians entombed him, while in current canon the Sarcophagus is a prison the Slayer's enemies trapped him in, & was found by Hayden. So a bit of an inconsistency

Cuz Mars being tied to an ancient warrior race of humans that pre-dates Earth's humanity was a concept that carried over into 2016 & Eternal as the Night Sentinels and the ruins of their Mars colony. Even the soul cube 3's martian's used looks like a mix between Maykr & Hell technology

One thing I do think that 2016 & Eternal improved on from 3 is the settings covered in guys and viscera. It's present in 3 but a lot lesso than the modern games, and the effect of it feeling like flesh wasn't quite there yet. 2016 improved it but I think Eternal's was perfection

Like, the attempt at evoking a sense of depth in its landscapes, the shading & colors more vibrant, not afraid to go batshit. Idk it just felt climactically satisfying by the end, while with Eternity I really thought felt more like a collection of levels than a campaign

So one of my childhood dogs spends 3/4 of her life asleep cuz she's an eepy girl, and my family always puts her blanket on her. And since she's so used to having it on her, she doesn't try taking it off when she's awake and just walks around the house with it on 😭

Something cool that Bethesda could do to win back some ppl is to invest in some smaller budget projects to make new Fallout & Elder Scrolls games in their retro styles with some modernizations.
Kinda like Sidescroller Mario vs 3D Mario. Top-down Zelda vs 3D Zelda.
