Respect for this room dedicated to showing off the Dutch navy and then the English navy getting owned repeatedly. In particular this back plate from the captured Royal Charles displayed above a door as a trophy and this painting of a time an English ship fell over because it was too windy

A one-up on planten op de straat, litterally across the water from the same street being reconstructed yesterday is plants on the water

An unexpected but pleasent surprise at the Van Gogh museum was this piece by my boy Josef Isreäls. I really like a similar painting The Frugal Meal featured in the portrait promenade in Kelvingrove because of the specific candid feeling of this type of scene

Oh yeah and this was nice too I guess

Need more photos but it's fascinating to see the difference between canal-ring streets that have been redesigned and parking free vs those that are still on the old layout. In particular I'm extremely enamoured by the amount of planting segments, for example on this redesign of Ruysdaelkade Street

Bonus images of sections connecting to the above; the wonderful and peaceful plaza Clyde Place Quay outside the new Barclays offices, and construction work on Carlton Place for a new cycle path connecting the South City Way as well as the public realm / parks work

Some better images having looped back round. In order: the widened crossing and integration with King George V Bridge, the section under the rail bridge, the new junction at King George V and a view south

Wow that was fast! Looks like the new protected bike lanes on King George V Bridge, one on A77 Bridge, and one side of the junction on Clyde street are done.

Works only seemed to start maybe a month ago, really great to see such fast progress, congrats to Glasgow City Council

I recorded the announcements in a quiet carriage returning from the Garden Centre at Whitecraigs in south-Glasgow, to Mount Florida (when some other people got on and I didn't want to record them).

In this short 4 stop segment you can pick up on a plethora of obvious audio issues

I've written to ScotRail's communications team to express my opinion that their new generative AI PA system, "Iona", is not fit for purpose, and represents a downgrade for the network

I'm a little dissapointed in the way this is being framed in some outlets. To me, while the wording was maybe ill-chosen, these quotes clearly read as saying "it's not just a single tram line", given the only Scottish context for any recent metro system will inevitably be the Edinburgh trams

Asside form the obvious main reaction of unbridled rage and mourning for the years of avoidable suffering and pain this will cause, especially to the most vulnerable in our community...

My main reaction to anything coming out central government and our main political parties recently is just this
