Most of them dont even read the books on the list. They have a script they'll use to pester the people in charge enough to ban it.

Theres a very vocal group in the US that works to ban books In communities across the country. City council meetings, libraries, schools especially. They have a list of books to screech and cry about, if it has even a whiff of LGBTQ or non conservative values, its going on that list.
