At this point the federal government literally does NOTHING for the American people. I am hard pressed to think of a department serving the public that has not been cut to the bone, co-opted, or fully privatized and converted to a for-profit organization.

Even departments not militarily aligned such as the Dept. of education, housing, FDA, USDA, etc. all their policies are now directed to actively harming or taking advantage of uneducated, poor or powerless Americans. To funnel them into the prison pipeline, or outright kill them.

The endgame is to make the Federal Government the administrator of a police state and a financial / judicial weapon to extract the maximum amount of wealth from the lower classes under threat of slavery (prison), deportation (immigrants), or death (eugenics). To maximize profits.

Requiring them to unmask and display ID should have been the FIRST thing every state did once he started unconstitutionally deploying these unsworn bounty hunters. It would have quickly proven they have no legitimate authority and are largely not actually employed by any government agency.

The U.S. is a bully internationally, we were allowed to perpetuate unjust war in Iraq/Afghanistan for nearly 2 decades, and that revenue stream dried up. So 47 and his crony gang are turning the military apparatus inward. It's all for profit.

It was never clear how many colonies (if any?) the Cardassians had, or the relative strength of their forces. But they were a significant threat and comparative in tech level to the Federation, enough that we didn't want to "risk war" with them, even before the Dominion War.

Bajor itself felt very muslim-coded in some ways, but very white-washed. I wrote that up to an attempt at sanitizing the premise of a sci-fi religious society so as to not offend anyone in particular. But they also had post-WWII-diaspora vibes with Cardies as obvious Nazi stand-ins.

I saw Cardassia/Bajor dynamic as parallel to Israel/Palestine. Cardassia's biggest assets were its top class intelligence service, fanatic homogenized populace, and highly militarized home state. AKA the Mossad, Zionists, and Israel
