My understanding is there's more foreshadowing for the resolution now. The accomplice gives Melinoë cause for doubting the original plan earlier and then they workshop an alternative together.

Yeah I see the vision based on the difference between her upbringing and her accomplice's past experience. I won with the updated ending so only know what others said about it feeling like an abrupt change of plan in the original.

They've added a new incantation you can use to experience the new story beats without losing your progress.

The big change was in where the idea for how to resolve things comes from. The original ending had another character you're working with make the decision unilaterally, taking agency away from your character.

Now the idea is suggested by her.

Biggest tip is prioritizing getting your assistants ASAP, and of the assistants prioritize ones that give you resources or travel for free (not conversions). That's the first big way to bootstrap.

Original ending yes. based in the different experiences Melinoe (lifelong quest of vengeance) had in contrast to her accomplice (SPOILER SPOILER).

That got changed too - the narrative turn is now suggested by Melinoe herself, set up by other added convos that make her question the vengeance quest.

Unfortunately if you are most of the way towards rolling credit you don't get to see the changes until after you've already hit the ending - you activate an option to revert your story progress to re-experience it.

I opted for watching the parts I've already played via YouTube.
