One of the very first sketches I ever made of her, during my college days. I don't think I came up with DoLL myself. I first saw her in a dream, at the start of my twenties. A particularly topsy turvy point in my life. I kept having recurring dreams of getting lost and hunted by random people in some strange carnival/festival space. Tons of crazy dream shit happens, you don't want the details. But the last dream happens and at the end of it, I'm lost, I'm broken down. and this little elf girl comes out of the dark, real small, barely up to my shoulders. She speaks in a language I don't understand, but she holds out her hand, and she guides me to, I don't fuggin' know. Somewhere safe. I could never get it out of my head, I had to jot it down, get her on paper. That was DoLL. Or at least the base for what she? is???? maybe?? I dunno. It meant something to me. DoLL's more than just an OC to me, she's like my hope. Something I feel like I have to hold onto and take care of. I love ya, kid. Wherever you are. Funny clock thing. My first ever scanned and colored piece...of anything ever, really. Even for my lack of skill back then I don't think I did half bad. DoLL is a character that makes me want to give my A-game every time I draw her, I want to see her do cool things and have an adventurous and fulfilling life. I get really impassioned about it, which is funny considering how passive and skittish she can be. Her bow's got a keyhole now. I like all the bows she wears but the keyhole one's special. I give my characters ridiculous and sharp lashes. I think that carried over from when I drew Sonic fanart as a kid. Amy and Rouge's eyelashes are literally trying to escape their faces. And DoLL's got the biggest lashes of them all lol. I always had the shape in mind, long and antenae-like, with a slight curl at the end. And then they just got longer. And longer. And longer. And don't get me started on her ears. The gentle grace of a butterfly, but soft and easily frightened like a rabbit...a Butterfly Rabbit. That's what she is. Somebody who's got at animals, do that. ...anyways look at her lil basket~

Not so fun fact: Ari is THE hardest OC to draw for me. Definitely not her hair of course - but her body ughhhh lol. She's thin and has super small boobs but either they get too big or they look awkward haha.

Drawing my big boobed girls Cleo, Cara and Juana definitely is easier 😆🙈
