And also, I’m just shocked they never created an online multiplayer mode given how much time it was in development. The next game really needs it. I’d also add a section where you control the ship and shoot enemies with it. And a day/night cycle to mix things up a bit more.

All in all, I thought it was a great game but sadly not an amazing game. It didn’t live up the high standard set by the first 3 but in no way does that make it a bad game. Hopefully it’s not 18 years before the next one. And in the meantime, we get MP2 & 3 remastered.

The desert area and bike just felt unnecessary. Prefer it when the areas are linked together. I did think the new abilities were cool, but weren’t used that often. It’s clear the game suffered from a disjointed development. The game looked stunning though.

Really enjoyed it. But sadly it was too short. I guess Metroid games are never that long but the amount of time it spent in development, I expected a bigger game. Maps were too small, too straight forward. You unlock the area map and find you’ve explored 80% of it already 🤦🏻♂️

Yes. And for some reason this time they’ve made it so all the cups display a 3 star trophy by just clearing one CC. It was easier to see your progress when they had you select the CC first and then the cup

Disappointed but not surprised to see Gareth Southgate pushing the “video games bad” schtick in his speech today. Someone spends a few hours watching Netflix or reading a book? Unproblematic. But god forbid they spend that time with a controller in hand.
